Once the dog is on point carefully walk in, and be ready for the strong and fast flush of an upland game bird. After your shot wait patiently and attentive as your new hunting friend fetches up your downed rooster pheasant, don’t be surprised when he goes on point during the retrieve only to have a double grouse or covey of quail exploding instantly in front of you.
