Experience a Sumptuous Meal from Guest Chef Nathan Rich

November 2, 2015

Every night, our Executive Chef Joe Schafer and his prestigious culinary team treat the guests at the Lodge at Glendorn to the most scrumptious, mouthwatering meals. Despite our out-of-the-way location in scenic Northwest Pennsylvania, our chefs work in a kitchen equipped with state-of-the-art tools and items. By sourcing the freshest foods from around Pennsylvania and preparing them with a French flair, it’s no wonder that the Lodge is so renowned for its culinary prowess.

Now, guests at the Lodge at Glendorn can prepare to savor another unique dining experience when we warmly welcome Guest Chef Nathan Rich on Saturday, November 7th. As the Executive Chef at Relais & Chateaux Twin Farms, Rich favors locally grown ingredients for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At this Vermont country hotel, he’s known to make use of the best produce and other edible items per season, whether that’s vegetables, fruits, or herbs.

Twin Farms patrons have been fortunate enough to sink their teeth into his breakfast muffins prepared fresh that morning and the flavorful house-cured meats, washing it down with juices straight from local farms or healthful, energizing smoothies. As lunchtime and dinnertime roll around, Rich shows off his delightful skill at combining sumptuous delights into a multi-course meal.

This November, when you book a stay with us at the Lodge at Glendorn, you can enjoy such a multi-course dinner yourself. Rich and our Chef Schafer will join together to prepare up to six different courses. They’ve painstakingly selected the most flavorful and rich wines that complement the invigorating and aromatic tastes of these dishes. Your taste buds will be in heaven as you sample the range of meals that this talented cooking duo has in store for you.

We invite you to book a package now before this big weekend so you don’t miss out. Our accommodations work for every kind of visitor, whether that’s an individual, a couple, a small group, or a family. The Green Suite is within proximity to the dining hall, both of which are on our spacious and welcoming front floor. You have easy access to the Main Lodge, but you may not want to leave considering that your room includes its own private bath with a dressing area, shower, and tub, a dreamy king-sized bed, a private entrance terrace overlooking Fuller Brook, and a stunning fireplace adorned with 18th century decor.

Larger parties will love the comfort of Clayts Cabin. Reserve up to five bedrooms in this spacious part of the Lodge at Glendorn. The master bedroom is the largest of all with its own screen porch, a wet bar, a fireplace, a full bath, and antique twig furniture. Take in the views of the lush green backyard, complete with its own campfire, from the living room’s oversized windows. Settle in for a night of relaxation on a leather couch with a flat screen television and a fireplace.

Love will be in the air when you rent the Hideout Cabin. One of our oldest accommodations, this part of the hotel dates back to 1931. Much of the decorative style is still intact, like the hardwood, brick, and stone structures throughout. Despite that, you still get to enjoy the most modern and sleek amenities like an outdoor terrace complete with a barbeque area and a fireplace, a private bath, and a plush king-sized bed.

You’ll find that staying with us at the Lodge at Glendorn is refreshing and rejuvenating. Our resort overlooks the Allegheny Mountains with over 1,500 acres of space. We aspire to keep the lure of family camps alive but in the setting of a five-star resort. You can book your stay at the Lodge at Glendorn by phone or online on our website. Make sure to bring your appetite on Saturday, November 7th, because Chefs Rich and Schafer are sure to leave your stomach full and your heart contented.
