Meet The Team
David Okerlund - General Manager
David Okerlund is the General Manager of Glendorn. He started working here in 2010 as the Chief Engineer and was promoted to General Manager in 2011. As general manager, Dave assumes responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day business, as well as developing new and continued business opportunities.Dave has a broad resume prior to his employment with Glendorn, he worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a highway foreman and equipment operator.
He is married to Tanya Okerlund and they reside in Smethport, PA.
Tanya Okerlund - Sales and Reservations Manager
Tanya Okerlund is our Sales and Reservations Manager and has served Glendorn since 2010. She oversees reception, reservations, sales and special events. Tanya is very passionate about horseback riding and is also our Equine Director. When she is not working here, she is actively competing in barrel racing, team penning, sorting, and rodeos. She is married to David Okerlund and they reside in Smethport, PA.
Joseph Schafer - Chef
Originally from upstate New York, Executive Chef Joe Schafer received his Associates Degree from New England Culinary Institute in Essex Junction, Vermont. He has worked at many prestigious Relais and Chateaux properties including The Lake Placid Lodge, Triple Creek Ranch, Restaurant Helen Darroze and The White Barn Inn. Chef Schafer joined the Glendorn team in June 2008. His food is heavily influenced by classic French techniques while focusing on seasonal ingredients and local products. He strives to make food fitting to the surroundings at Glendorn of rustic elegance and comfortable sophistication. Chef Schafer currently resides in Bradford, Pennsylvania with his wife and five year old son, Ethan and 2 year old daughter Sydney. He enjoys the quiet life of a small town and says when he cooks he "always keeps two things in mind simplicity and easy clean up".
Judith Crooks - Director of Lodging
Judith Crooks is our Director of Lodging and Florals. She has been with Glendorn for 35 years and feels very blessed to have a job that she enjoys. She lives in Gifford with her husband. She has two children and 9 grandchildren.
Shane Appleby - Activities Director
Shane is our Activities Director. He has been working at Glendorn for the past several years. He has held various positions until finding his natural fit as Activities Director. He is an Orvis Endorsed fly fishing guide licensed in Pennsylvania and New York. He is a very accomplished outdoorsman having a love for archery hunting, fly fishing.
Damon Newpher - Activities Guide
Damon Newpher has been with Glendorn for many years. He is an Orvis Endorsed fly fishing guide. He attended the Wulff School of Fly fishing and is nationally certified by the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF).He is certified and licensed by ORVIS as an endorsed guide and by the states of New York and Pennsylvania as a registered guide. He has also been certified through the National Skeet Shooting Association as a certified skeet shooting instructor. Originally from Pennsylvania, Damon returned to Glendorn in 1999 to work in the activities department. Previously, he worked in Arkansas at the Ozark Angler and mastered the Little Red, White, Norfolk and Spring rivers which are world class for trout and smallmouth fishing.
Mike Byerley - Sous Chef
Mike Byerly is our Sous Chef. He is a Paul Smith's College graduate from Cuba, NY. During and after college, Mike spent six years working in Lake Placid in various fine dining restaurants. Growing up on a farm, Mike has had an appreciation for food since an early age. He is a large supporter of local farms using local ingredients whenever possible.
Ian Abrams - Breakfast chef
Barb Hall - Housekeeping
Barb Hall began working at Glendorn in 1998 as a member of guest services. She is a native of the Bradford area. Barb enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends and her two dogs.
Brenda Day - Housekeeping
Brenda Day started working at Glendorn in 2000 in guest services. She has been a resident of Bradford since 1970 and thoroughly enjoys living in the country.

Brandon Veite - Maintenance
Brandon Veite is a member of our Maintenance department and is in charge of the grounds crew. He has worked with us for several years.
George Johnson - Shooting instructor/ Dog Trainer
George Johnson is one of our shooting instructors. He is very patient and very good at spotting, identifying, and correcting common shooting errors. George also is in charge of taking care of Glendorn's bird dogs. He spends alot of time scouting out new hunting areas and polishing our dogs pointing skills. Please come share his passion for pointing dogs on one of our guided hunts.
