Shooting Sports

Trap & Skeet Shooting

Trap and skeet is a Dorn family tradition. The traps at Glendorn are the 14th and 15th ones made by the Winchester Company. So important was this sport to the family, a padded telephone booth was installed in the trap house so family members could conduct business and then return to the range. We have one of the oldest ranges in the United States.  Our comfortable trap house with restroom, fireplace, built-in grill, redwood gun racks and gun cleaning station will make everyone comfortable even if you're just there to watch your friends "break some clay".
At Glendorn, all guests are encouraged to participate in our world class shooting program.  Our instructors take you through the basics in an orientation round which covers everything from proper gun mount, gun safety and tips for breaking your first target.
Intermediate and Advance shooting lessons are available at separate times, though some experienced guest shooters pick up on small hints while sitting in on the orientation with their partners and friends.
Everyone is welcome to participate in Glendorn's shooting program no matter what your experience is, even if you've never held a gun before.  We use only over and under shotguns for safety, small bore guns for low to no recoil and individual one on one instruction while you are on station for customized coaching.  Eye and ear protection is provided on-site.

$50.00 per skeet or trap round per person including use of Gun, Ammo, Target fees and instructor fees.

Sporting Clays

The nearby Bradford Gun Club, which hosts national shooting events, has a 100 target sporting clays course and is only a few minutes from Glendorn. The club offers our guests private rounds of Sporting Clays hosted by one of our instructors. Arrangements can be made for individuals or groups for 50 or 100 target rounds.
$75-$125 per person including use of Gun, Ammo, Target Fees, instructor fees and transportation.
