Winter Resort Activities in Pennsylvania

December 10, 2015

Glendorn is your ultimate for a winter resort in Pennsylvania. Take a trip out to our wonderful resort and experience an abundance of winter activities.

Sledding

If you are vacationing at Glendorn with youngsters or if you want to re-live your childhood, jump into a sled and hit the hills. We have sleds available at the resort so you won’t have to worry about packing your own. Go ahead and slide on down our hills and you’ll experience an exhilarating jubilation like you did as a child. Or, head on over to Hideout Hill for more advanced slopes.

Escape From the World With a Peaceful Skate Around the Ice

Your stay at Glendorn should be centered on tuning out the distractions of the “real world” and focusing on enjoying yourself along with the company of your family. We host ice skating sessions at Skipper Lake for this exact purpose. Skate around the lake with your significant other or loved ones and then head on over to our special warming hut to warm up. Here, you will find s’mores, hot chocolate and other tasty treats.

Your Snowmobiling Adventure Awaits

The beauty of vacationing at Glendorn is that you can access niceties and unique terrain that are not available at home. We offer some truly amazing guided snowmobiling tours that lead guests around our gorgeous property. This is one of the best ways to experience northeastern Pennsylvania in all its glory. We have groom trail systems for novices, expansive open meadows for more experienced riders and much more. Each provides an unforgettable view that will be ingrained in your mind’s eye for years to come. Snowmobile tours leave every morning and afternoon. This is the ultimate winter adventure that you have been envisioning all of your life. Make those dreams a reality at Glendorn.

Be One With Nature

The best part about vacationing at Glendorn in the midst of the winter is the opportunity to reconnect with your natural surroundings. You can do this through any of the activities outlined above yet you’ll really feel connected to mother nature with a snowshoeing or ice fishing expedition. Glendorn’s carefully planned trail system is the perfect place for nature lovers who want to experience everything this beautiful winter wonderland has to offer. Grab a pair of our complimentary snowshoes and take a hike on out to Glendorn’s Hideout. Here, you will find our staff’s elaborate gourmet lunch lined up by a warm fire. Have a delicious meal and head on back out onto the trails. If you visit during the months of January and February, you can enjoy a day on the lake with a Glendorn ice-fishing guide. He’ll help you learn the intricacies of ice fishing and you just might catch a trout or pan fish. We’ll even cook a delicious dinner with the fish you and your family catch.
